Comparrisons

The Amazing Spider-man 2 and The Selfish Giant

Sony work on lots of films each year such as Robocop, 22 Jump Street, The Amazing Spiderman which enables them to spread their risk. Film 4 distributed The selfish giant, aslong with other films such as A field in england, 12 years a slave.

·         Sony are involved in production (MGM), distribution (Columbia Tristar and Sony Pictures Entertainment) and exhibition (Sony Blu-ray machines/ Sony DVD Players/ Sony TVs / Sony phones.) THIS IS CALLED VERTICAL INTEGRATION.

Audience

The amazing spidermans audience is 7- 30. Prodominantly male. The audience is mainly people who are fans of the previous spiderman films and also people who have an interest in the marvel characters. Young children are also massive fans of spiderman films as of all the merchandise available and they aspire to be just like spiderman. Tha amazing spiderman is full of action, that is priced at a very high budget.

The audience for the selfish giant is aged between 15- 30, because of the language and the deep story line. People can more likely relate with this film, so the audience is people who enjoy films that hold a debth and lots of emotion throughout. They may even be able to relate with the story as it is based on a true story. The dramatic scenes in the selfish giant are not full of action, more emotion, therefore you do not need a high budget to fund this.
